Single Vineyard Barossa Valley Syrah 2022

MF Wine Single Vineyard Barossa Valley Syrah 2022 is made out of hand-picked grapes from a vineyard on Biscay soil. The vineyard is located in the subregion of Bethany, an area renowned for producing more elegant and perfumed wines.

It saw a wild yeast ferment in stainless steel with 25% being whole bunches. It was then racked off to oak for maturation. Only old French oak was used, as the wine's pristine aroma was something we wanted to keep. We used fifth and sixth fill Hogsheads and Puncheons for 8 months with lees stirring throughout. 

Bottled in January 2023 the wine is super aromatic, with ripe black cherry, blackberry, and toasted cloves. The palate is juicy, vibrant, and approachable, full-bodied but elegant and made with restraint. Nectarine skin, dark cherry, and currants throughout. Grippy tannin in its youth that will soften and a long scented length with a lick of biscuit to finish it off. 

Tasting Note:

The 2022 Single Vineyard Syrah on the nose is super fragrant! Upon pouring it has a lovely deep purple colour, inky and vibrant.

The aroma jumps out of the glass. It shows ripe, pristine black cherry, blackcurrants, nectarine skin, Allspice, and a floral perfumed touch.

The palate is juicy, vibrant and approachable. Grippy, youthful tannin swirls around with the pure black cherry and currants. Clove and allspice towards the back end and a lick of oak are layered throughout with a long scented, complex length.
